Who Is Eligible for the Annual FASTag Pass?
The pass is designed for private, non-commercial road users. Eligibility is checked against the vehicle registration number and the FASTag mapped to that vehicle.
You should be eligible when:
- Your vehicle is a private, non-commercial car, jeep or van.
- You have a valid Registration Certificate and a functional FASTag mapped to the same vehicle registration number.
- The FASTag is correctly affixed to the vehicle’s windscreen.
- The FASTag is active and is not blacklisted or hotlisted.
You may not be eligible when:
- The FASTag is registered only with a chassis number instead of the final vehicle registration number.
- The vehicle is commercial or the pass is being requested for a different vehicle.
- The FASTag is loose, damaged, blacklisted, hotlisted or not mapped correctly.
- You use an ineligible issuer tag, including a Paytm FASTag under current regulatory rules.
No new FASTag is normally required. If your existing tag is eligible, the Annual Pass is activated on it. The Annual Pass is permanently linked to the original vehicle registration number and cannot be transferred to another car.

Know where it works
Which Toll Plazas Are Covered by the NHAI Annual Pass?
The pass is valid only at eligible NHAI-operated National Highway and National Expressway fee plazas listed on the RajmargYatra app or website.
Generally covered
- Designated NHAI-operated National Highway toll plazas
- Designated NHAI-operated National Expressway toll plazas
- Eligible point-based fee plaza crossings
- Eligible closed-toll-system journeys, where one valid entry-exit pair counts as one crossing
Not automatically covered
- State highway, municipal or local authority toll plazas
- State-operated or privately operated expressways not on the official eligible-plaza list
- Parking, border charges or other non-NHAI user fees
- Any plaza that does not appear in RajmargYatra’s eligible toll plaza list
Is the Annual FASTag Pass valid on Ganga Expressway?
Do not assume that it is. Ganga Expressway is a Uttar Pradesh state expressway project, while the Annual Pass is restricted to eligible NHAI-operated toll plazas. Search the official eligible-plaza list in RajmargYatra before travel. Keep a normal FASTag balance for any toll that is not covered.
What counts as one trip or crossing?
At a point-based fee plaza, each eligible crossing normally uses one of the 200 crossings, so going out and returning through the same plaza generally uses two. In a closed toll system, a valid entry-exit pair counts as one crossing.
Avoid a common mistake
Annual Pass Recharge vs Regular FASTag Recharge
A regular FASTag recharge adds money to your FASTag wallet or linked account. An Annual FASTag Pass purchase activates a separate toll-crossing benefit on an eligible existing FASTag.
| Feature | Annual FASTag Pass | Regular FASTag recharge |
|---|---|---|
| What you receive | Up to 200 eligible NHAI toll crossings | Wallet/account balance used per toll charge |
| Current payment | ₹3,075 one-time fee for FY 2026-27 | Any recharge amount you choose |
| Where to buy | RajmargYatra app or official NHAI website | Issuer bank, BBPS, UPI apps and supported recharge channels |
| Where it works | Eligible NHAI-operated plazas only | All supported FASTag toll plazas, subject to sufficient balance |
| After expiry | FASTag returns to normal per-trip deductions | Balance remains subject to issuer terms |
Should you keep a normal FASTag balance?
Yes. Maintain enough regular balance for state highways, non-covered expressways, municipal tolls and any eligible-plaza issue. The Annual Pass does not replace regular FASTag everywhere.
Annual FASTag Pass vs NHAI Monthly Pass
A monthly FASTag pass is usually linked to a specific toll plaza and intended for eligible local or frequent users under that plaza’s rules. The Annual Pass covers eligible NHAI-operated plazas across the network, up to 200 crossings or 12 months. If nearly all your travel is through one local plaza, compare that plaza’s monthly-pass cost and eligibility before choosing.
Simple decision rule: choose based on your actual route, covered toll plazas and expected number of crossings, not only the headline fee.
Check the maths
Is the Annual FASTag Pass Worth Buying?
At the current ₹3,075 fee, using all 200 eligible crossings works out to about ₹15.38 per crossing. Your real saving depends on your normal toll rate and how many eligible crossings you use before expiry.
| Eligible crossings used | Effective Annual Pass cost per crossing | Usually makes sense when… |
|---|---|---|
| 50 | ₹61.50 | Your average covered toll is meaningfully above this amount |
| 100 | ₹30.75 | You travel on covered NH/NE routes regularly |
| 150 | ₹20.50 | You are a frequent intercity highway user |
| 200 | ₹15.38 | You expect to use the complete crossing allowance |
Before you buy, check three things
- How many toll crossings will you realistically make during the next 12 months?
- Are the toll plazas on your regular route included in the official eligible-plaza list?
- Would a specific local monthly pass be cheaper for your route?
Payment or activation problem?
Annual FASTag Pass Troubleshooting
Keep your vehicle number, registered mobile number, payment receipt and transaction reference ready before contacting support.
Payment deducted but pass not activated
Allow up to two hours for normal activation. Check the Annual Pass dashboard and SMS messages. If it remains inactive, raise a complaint through RajmargYatra or call the National Highway helpline at 1033.
Vehicle shown as ineligible
Check whether the FASTag is active, affixed to the windscreen and mapped to the final Vehicle Registration Number. Contact your FASTag issuer to correct tag or KYC mapping issues.
Pass not visible in the app
Confirm that you are signed in with the correct mobile number and vehicle details. Refresh the dashboard, retain the payment proof and file a grievance if the purchase is still missing.
FASTag damaged or replaced
Do not assume the Annual Pass will move automatically. Contact the FASTag issuer and RajmargYatra support before travel so the replacement tag and vehicle mapping can be verified.

Annual FASTag Pass FAQs
Clear answers to the questions people ask before and after purchasing the pass.
What is the FASTag Annual Pass price in 2026?
The Annual FASTag Pass fee is ₹3,075 for FY 2026-27, effective from April 1, 2026. Fees can be revised in future financial years, so verify the amount on the official RajmargYatra website before payment.
Is the FASTag Annual Pass still 3000 rupees?
No. The NHAI FASTag Annual Pass originally cost ₹3,000 for FY 2025-26, which is why many older pages and searches still mention “FASTag Annual Pass 3000.” The current fee is ₹3,075 for FY 2026-27.
What is the NHAI FASTag annual toll pass?
The terms Annual FASTag Pass, NHAI Annual Pass, toll annual pass and FASTag annual toll pass commonly refer to the same optional NHAI facility: up to 200 eligible toll crossings or 12 months, whichever comes first, after a one-time payment.
How do I get an Annual FASTag Pass?
Open the Annual Pass section of the official RajmargYatra app or NHAI website, enter your Vehicle Registration Number, complete eligibility verification and pay the displayed fee.
Can I buy the FASTag Annual Pass online?
Yes. The official online purchase channels are the RajmargYatra app and the NHAI Annual Pass website. Avoid unofficial agents and websites.
Do I need to buy a new FASTag for the Annual Pass?
No, not normally. The pass is activated on your existing eligible FASTag linked to the same registered vehicle.
Is the Annual Pass the same as FASTag annual recharge?
People often call it an annual recharge, but it is different from adding balance to a FASTag wallet. It is a one-time purchase that activates up to 200 eligible NHAI toll crossings for up to 12 months.
Can I use the Annual Pass for multiple cars?
No. Each pass is non-transferable and linked permanently to one Vehicle Registration Number. A separate eligible Annual Pass is required for each vehicle.
What happens after all 200 toll crossings are used?
The Annual Pass benefit expires and the FASTag resumes normal per-trip toll deductions. You may purchase a new Annual Pass, subject to the current fee and eligibility rules.
What happens if I do not use all 200 crossings in one year?
Unused crossings lapse when the 12-month validity ends. They do not carry forward and are not refundable.
Is the NHAI Annual Pass mandatory?
No. It is optional. Drivers who do not purchase it can continue using their regular FASTag and paying the applicable toll for each trip.
Will my local or monthly FASTag pass still work?
Local and monthly-pass rules can differ by toll plaza. Check the relevant plaza and issuer conditions before activating the Annual Pass, especially if you rely on a local concession.
Can SBI FASTag or another bank FASTag use the Annual Pass?
An eligible valid FASTag from a supported issuer can normally be used because the Annual Pass is activated through RajmargYatra on the existing vehicle-linked tag. Eligibility is confirmed during the online check.
Which app should I use: My FASTag app or RajmargYatra?
Use RajmargYatra or the official NHAI Annual Pass website to purchase and manage the Annual Pass. The My FASTag app and issuer apps may be useful for normal FASTag services and recharge, but they are not the official Annual Pass purchase channel.
How do I recharge a regular FASTag?
For a normal FASTag recharge, use your issuer bank, issuer app or a supported BBPS/UPI recharge channel. Enter the correct vehicle number or FASTag details and verify the issuer before payment. This is separate from buying the Annual Pass through RajmargYatra.
